"I know that most joy in my life has come to me from my violin," albert einstein
Einstein couldn’t conceive of life without playing music, and neither can we.
Einstein's genius wasn't only limited to physics and mathematics, he was also an avid musician, and served as the vice president of the Princeton Symphony from 1952 until his passing. During a 1929 interview with G.S. Viereck, Einstein said that, had he not been a scientist, he would have been a musician. "Life without playing music is inconceivable for me," Einstein declared. "I live my daydreams in music. I see my life in terms of music ... I get most joy in life out of music."
At Music Studio 78, music is our way of life, and our string classes (violin, viola, and cello) are a popular choice among students.
The modern violin as we know it today, was invented in northern Italy in the 16th Century, though its history traces back to the middle ages, from instruments of the orient —- the Arabian rabab and the rebec. Some historians trace the genesis of the violin to as early as the 9th century.
From bowing to plucking, stringed instruments are extremely versatile in musical expressions. As one’s technique grows and develops, the sound world also expands with richness. The portability of stringed instruments lends itself to being travel and tour friendly. Stringed instrumentalists have various performance opportunities and career paths —- as solo artists, chamber musicians, chamber orchestra musicians, or symphonic musicians. In North America, many schools - grade school through high school, have their own orchestra and string departments where you could let your talent shine.
